They would probably tell all your secrets, let you know why they keep peeing on your carpet and explain they just got into the garbage and you didn't have to rush them to the vet and spend $600 just for them to tell you he had a tummy ache. Life would be so much easier!
Unfortunately, Scientists have not established a way for that to happen yet. Instead, we do the next best thing: study their behavior. And I do mean study.
It's something I have always been interested, since I was nine years old. I would read book after book about dog behaviors, what different angles of their tales mean, why they do that thing with their ears. All because I knew it was the closest thing I could do to understand them.
24 years later, I'm still doing it. I've created a business out of it and work at the local shelter as a Behavior Specialist.
All of this to say, I know not everyone understands what their dogs are saying. We miss cues, signals, signs and we can't seem to understand what happened, even if it was right in front of us. It is definitely a learned skill and I am more than happy to share that with you, as best I can.
Starting TODAY (April 1, 2025) I'm With Fur has introduced our phone consultations. A free 30 minute conversation for people to ask those "silly" questions without judgement, to try to understand why their dog keeps doing that weird cry-scream when it sees a squirrel or to just receive that validation that training does take time!
Check it out under "All Pawsibilities" or by clicking this link and schedule yours today!

Maybe we can't talk to our pets but I'll sure as heck keep trying!
